Poetry can be a place to turn for solace and for guidance. It is an assurance that others have been through what you are going through now. If you have been feeling a little lost or adrift recently, poetry can be a guide, a lifeboat in the sea of uncertainty. Perhaps the state of the world feels overwhelming, the lack of clarity about the future making you feel frozen in place. Or maybe there are relationships or life changes that are weighing on you, and you’re not quite sure of your path forward. By reading and writing poetry, we are able to feel the resonances of the art in our own lives.
